When planning for new buildings 10,000 sq.ft. to 50,000 sq. ft., when is it cost effective to raise voltages from 120/208v 3 ph. to 277/480v 3 ph?

See a book like Beeman, Industrial Power Systems Handbook. The infomation provided is insufficent to answer the question.

Possibly see also IEEE Std. 241 (Gray Book), "IEEE Recommended Practice for Electric Power Systems in Commercial Buildings".

Also, check with the local utility to see if they provide 480 in that area.
