You may have read my post below, but I am new to MS and trying to self-teach. I am not a good self teacher. Anyway I am working with a drawing showing locations of Exit signs and they are each labeled with a number inside a pentagon. There is a leader that points to the sign location and then connects to each pentagon.

Can anyone tell me how I can edit and create these labels? I will give you any information you need if you tell me how to get it. Thanks for your help!

How about creating a cell with text data fields? I have a similiar cell or design file created.

visccclubchamp,

I didn't give you enough info...There are already cells on the drawing. At least I think so. When I click on the pentagon, the text and leader are selected as well. It is possible to attach a leader to a cell so they because associated?

Basically I need to copy and edit what's already there. Any pointers still? Thanks!

jman,

These are standard leaders which you can create. They are located under tools/annotation/drafting tools. When I use them, each element of the leader is separate and the text can be edited.

MIKE,

I have found the annotation tools and have been able to draw a pentagon with text in it, however the pentagon isn't as large as what's in the drawing already and the text is too large and not justified correctly. Where can I define pentagon size, text size and justification to match what's already on the drawing? Thanks once again for your help!

In the same toolbar, at the end is an icon for tool properties which lets you set the size of the pentagon, text, etc. I believe the justification is set by your general text justification setting, under element/text.
