I am working on a project that we originally designed in Europe. The material spec'd was HAWE plastic, I am struggling to find an equalent here in the US. The engineer in Europe further expanded with this comment "As for the plastic, HAWE is a material build out of Cotton fiber impregnated with phenolformaldehydewax. This type of material is very hard as a plastic and is used in applications as a wear pad where normal plastics are not suitable due to high surface forces. It has an max. tensile stress level of more than 80 MPa and a E-modulus of 7000 MPa." Does anyone on this forum know what the equivalent material in the US would be. Thanks in advance.
