grates in HydroCAD

When modeling a discharge threw a grate in HydroCAD, does HydroCAD accurately represent discharge flow?

HydroCAD evaluates grate flow considering both orifice and weir conditions. It can also consider weir flow around the outer perimeter of a grate. You will find details in the HydroCAD help system and the printed manual.

but if you but all the grate openings into the fill does it restrict flow more than what would happen in real life?
