Help!
I'm working on a project that involves simulating a longboard (like a longer skateboard, for those who don't know) and I'm trying to assemble it layer by layer in Catia. My goal is to then analyse the board with finite elements. I was thinking of simply placing constraints on the surfaces that touch, but is there of way of gluing surfaces in catia???

THANKS!

gluing surfaces in catia - you mean Join in GSD workbench?

I am a novice with Catia. So tha's my problem, I don't know! Is there a tool in the GSD workbench that allows you to "glue" surfaces?

If you are doing an FEA, you may be looking to 'sew' a lattice of faces onto your solids to which the FEA software will allow you to constrain them as required.

That's what I was going to say 1old, I think what dither is trying to do is model the wood "sheets" 1 by 1 and then assemble them together to do his FEA.
I think your best shot would be to do it with the composite workbench, I don't think regular assembly constraints would give you accurate results.
