Afternoon,
By browsing this site, I found a useful formulae for Fadum charts which is as follows:
It is an old thread so I decided to repost.
billsumner (Petroleum) (OP)26 Jun 06 06:09 Thanks for your help BigH. Page 54 of Poulos gives the formulae as you say:
Iσz = 1/(2π)*[arctan(m*n/sqrt(m²+n²+1)) + {m*n/sqrt(m²+n²+1)}*{1/(1+m²) + 1/(1+n²)}]
where Iσz = influence coefficient
m = B/z
n = L/z
B = half breadth of foundation
L = half length of foundation
z = depth
My question is, how do we use the resulting "Iσz" value from the above to calculate settlement?
As I try, my answers seem to get more incorrect with each attempt!
