Hi,

Does any body know the footprint area of haul truck 797B (400t)? I tried to search on line, but nothing is found.

Thanks for your help!

cvg, thanks for your reply.

I check the link that you gave. Under 'dimensions', I can't find the footprint areas of front tires or rear tires.

Would depend on the type of tyre used and the pressure it is pumped up for. Why not contact Caterpillar directly and ask them - they'll know.

If you know the tire air pressure, operating weight and axle weight distribution, you can calculate the "footprint"

Might check this previous post:
I also came across this research paper:

You should show standard tires on the 797B to be 59/80R63. See if you can locate a copy of the CAT Performance Handbook. In addition to the specific section on the machine, there is a separate tire section that may be of help. On second look, no luck there. You are to consult Michelin or Bridgestone directly for 797 options.

What is the purpose of knowing the footprint? Is it equipemnt load on a concrete Pad to determine its thickness?
