Hi, I work at a company that has 2 of the FO-3015NT amada lasers, everything was working correctly yesterday but today when we came in to turn the machine on the CNC controller found all drives and devices like usual but then went to a screen saying INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. Says to restart computer if first time seeing this message, it will not let me get to the tool bar to restart computer and there is no restart button on these newer models that I can see of so we just switched they main breakers on the machine. Screen still comes up, says to check for viruses or could be a hard drive issue. Has anyone come across this before or have any trouble shooting advice for me ?

Thanks.

Looks like either the hard drive is bad or not recognised by the bios. Hopefully the machine came with a backup image of the hard drive, in which case you could reload it to a new hard drive. If it's a more recent Fanuc control, it could have a compact flash card instead of hard drive, or even a solid state drive; in that case, you may have trouble reloading the image yourself. If it's a new machine and still under warranty, I would contact Fanuc or Amada.

Well, I assume you have it taken care of already but just in case you don't. Its really not difficult to pull the hard drive out of these machines. It just a PC. The hard drive it in the back of the display cabinet on the right.

Pull one hard drive out, hopefully you pick the one that works, make two copies, one for back up and the other for the other machines.

I use this software not sure its the best, but its free. Use the "CLONE" feature.

I imagine it sounds scary but really not a big deal. I have taken a hard drive from a 3015, copied it, and then stuck the copy into a 4020. The network settings were not so good but the machine has been cutting since August.
