Hi All,
AS mentioned in above subject I have an query. I have described briefly as below.
As per PG-29.7 (compensation on Semi-Ellipsoidal Dished Head) "If a flanged-in manhole that meets the code requirement is placed in ellipsoidal head, the thickness of head shall be same as for head dished to segment of sphere( according to PG-29.1 & PG-29.5) with a dish radius 0.8 times of head OD & with added thickness for the manhole as specified in PG-29.3.
Now according to PG-29.3 "a flanged‐in manhole or access opening that exceeds 6 in. (150 mm) in any dimension, the thickness shall be in-creased by not less than 15% of the required thickness for a blank head computed by the above formula, but in no case less than 1/8 in. (3 mm) additional thickness over a blank head. Where such a dished head has a flanged open-ing supported by an attached flue, an increase in thickness over that for a blank head is not required".
In our case we have manhole opening with flue on head. As per my interpretation it is not required to add any additional thickness as mentioned above.
I request all senior member to share their views.
Thanks...
