Flange in Blind Flange 1

Hello all,

I am currently designing a vessel which is provided with a 24" blind flange as top head.
In this blind flange we have three connections (liquid outlet of 3", LT of 2" and PT of 2").
Is it possible to model/calculate this in comprees?
At the moment I couldn't manage to do it. Does anyone know if there is any way to do this?

And, an additional question related with this, according to client specification all the connections bigger than 2" shall be provided with a reinforcing pad.
Do you think we should use this for our 3" nozzle which is assemblied on the blind flange? Is it common to use pads in blind flanges?

Area replacement requirements for flat heads are different than for formed heads and shells. Presuming that you are using VIII Div. 1, see UG-39 for the reason you don't often see repads on flat heads.

If you are using a B16.5 flange pair don't forget: Now that you have put multiple off-center holes into this blind flange, it is no longer a "standard component" since it is no longer in compliance with B16.5. So now you have to run the blind through the calc's as a flat head instead of relying on the B16.5 ratings.

You can model the flange and blind in the App 2 category using the B16.5 wizard dimensions and then put a nozzle thru the blind.
