Finding talented laser engineer

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and to laser engineering. I was wondering if anyone can recommend starting points to find a talented laser engineer that has strong practical experience in lasers which cut human hair without lacerating the skin. Perhaps if you personally know someone in this field or can point me in the right direction (a university or college that has strongest laser engineering department). Any pointers would truly be appreciated.

"practical experience" comes from working with equipment that exists.

"cutting hair" doesn't sound like a usual laser application, hence you won't find someone with experience doing that.

I read about laser hair removal - do you mean experience with those systems?

have you searched for universities with laser programs?

Are you looking for an engineer to help develop a process? or to design a system to perform that process?

I'm looking for an engineer to help develop a process or to design a system to perform the process of laser haircutting, not laser hair removal.

Do you think there is a laser that is strong enough to cut hair but without injuring the skin in car out accidentally brushes against it?

Any help to find someone working in this field is truly appreciated.

You can't have the ability to burn one without the other... absorption wavelengths are too close. You could block against hitting the skin, but then you spend a lot of time with the setup.

If you're trying to make a safe system for quickly cutting someone's hair, I would go find a drink and a new idea.

I suppose you could do a laser flowbee - where the hair is pulled out away from the head and cut there. That would allow you to collect the cut hair and deal with any effluent from the cutting process.
But - I like the "drink and new idea" suggestion.
