Hello,

I am using the Mounting Boss feature (Insert -> Fastening Features -> Mounting Boss). I am find that the dimensions that I feed in the dialog are not the same I receive on the feature. I need a specific diameter at the top of the boss (Say 0.4in) I would receive 0.3125 instead.

Does any body else have this kind of issue. I want to avoid math, because I need to create several bosses at different boss heights.

Thanks
BT

The feature is using the value for the bottom of the boss, and with the draft it is getting smaller on the way up. (Even though the picture looks like it is dimensioning to the top of the boss)

If you want the top of the boss to be the given dimension, there are a few options:

1) Create the boss without any draft, so it will be .4 at the top and bottom, (regardless of height). Add draft to each boss from the top getting wider going down.

2) Guess and check. Keep entering larger values until you measure .4 at the top of your boss.

It would be nice if the feature allowed you to select if the given dimension is the top or bottom of the boss.

Hope this helps.

Awesome. Thanks a lot MDG. I wouldn't have figured that out. It is measuring bottom of the boss!

Thanks again.
