etching of ceramics

I would like to get some information on the characteristic colours of the various components of a ceramic after etching with the following reagents:
aluminium oxide after etching with hydrofluoric acid
magnesium oxide after etching with phosphoric acid
silicon dioxide after etching with phosphoric acid or concentrated hydrofluoric acid
other basic refractories after etching with hydrochloric acid
