Dear team,
We have a requirement of cladding ERCuAl-A2 over low alloy steel (40mm thk) , how ever during initial trials we have found failure of samples in transverse bend test

What was the hardness of alloy steel?
What process was used for cladding

Hardness ranges between 250 - 270HV and welding carried by using GTAW process.

Was your first layer a pure nickel overlay then followed by the ERCuAl-A2?

What is the purpose of the clad?
Gtaw will have gone beyond the heat treat temper.

The Ni barrier layer would help.
