Okay, I didn't know where else to put this so I figured this was good place.

I am looking for a electronic database specifically for man hour estimates for handling, fabrication, and painting of piping, electrical, and structural components. Here is the trick, I really just need the database and not the interface supplied by most of the people out there. I want to create the user interface for the database out of our own existing systems.

I have all of our component BOM's and pricing for those components through our MRP systems. I would like to start an automated system with all of the associated labor hours to go along with it.

If the database had things like surface area per foot, weight per foot, and other things like that, it would be a major plus for task scheduled later down the road.

I have checked with Means and without getting into their custom projects group, they won't sell me just their database. I am willing to pay for this.

Any ideas on who I can call or check out?

Thanks

I am not sure why a company with a database of the information you request would be interested in selling it to a potential competitor. Seem to be a short sighted proposition for anyone willing to give you what you are requesting.

Zapster,

I am not looking to get this from a competitor. Somebody like RS Means. I have already talked to them and they didn't seem to have what I was looking for.

I guess a better question would have been who competes with RS Means.
