Let me try it like this.

I am looking for the requirements for the design of steel beams which support elevator equipment such as allowable deflection, stress limits, fatigue, etc. Thanks in advance.

This information would come from the elevator manufacturer no? I remember doing one a few months back and I thought the requirements were around L/1000. It might have even been more strict, but the requirements came direct form the mfr.

I have their loading but they didn't provide design criteria. I remember there are some specific code requirements but I seem to have lost my copy of the info.

Few years back I had attended an AISC seminar on design of steel buildings where the instructor mentioned the ASME A17.1 deflection criterion as span/1666.
