Hi,

I'm trying to use element deletion in order to take into account damage of the material i use. I think the results are quite what I expect but the problem is when I choose ELEMENT DELETION=YES the deleted elements stay in the view. I use a tool so in the cae I can see the tool penetrate and travel through the sheet... I'd like to know how to remove the elements that have been damaged from the viewport.
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Pitch

I am not familiar with element deletion, but if I were in the same situation I would look at
Visualization Module->Tools-> Display Group.....

If you get acess to ABAQUS V6.7, it may be worth for you to look at as they have done implovement releated to your problem.

The only way I have ever done it is as xerf says - create a display group where elements are removed depending on their status. The only downside is that you have to request element status output - it isn't added automatically.

However, as Yoman228 says, I seem to remember that there were some enhancements in 6.7 on this very subject. I haven't installed it yet, so I don't know.

Thanks for all your responses! I used the STATUS input and it worked perfectly! I've only access to 6.5 version :(
