Hello,
I am working on an analysis of a bearing cage using Timken double row bearings (TDO bearings). When analyzing single row bearings in traditional bearing cages, the effective bearing spread can be determined using the company data sheet. For TDO bearings however, the effective bearing spread between bearings is not provided. All it states is "This configuration gives a wide effective bearing spread..." but no information is provided on what this value is. I called Timken and spoke to a rep, and he wasn't sure and would get back to me. I thought I'd try this forum in the meantime to see if anyone had any suggestions. The TDO bearings I am using are 462-452D.

Thank you.
~Mike

You need the value of factor "K". It is in some, but curiously not all Timken catalogs.
