Folks

I am looking into designing a small drilling derrick and wondered if there are any governing standards and codes for the design and fabrication of this typ of structure.

If any one could offer up some pointers it would be appreciated.

Check out API 4F for your basic requirements. But everything is dependent on your environmental conditions. Wind speed, weather conditions, especially winter, special steel required for sub zero conditions.

Perfect thanks. I knew there must be something but couldn't find it. The environmental conditions will be substantially different as this will be a subsea derrick. Hence a lot of the document may not be applicable but as basic background info it covers the bases.
