Design Wind Speed

Vessel designers and specifiers should be aware that the design wind speed basis has been altered in ASCE 7-10 versus earlier Editions. In other words, a "100 mph" wind from ASCE 7-10 cannot be compared with a "100 mph" wind from ASCE 7-05 and earlier. See the design standards themselves and as well the Commentary to ASCE 7-10.
