Design Life of Timber Retaining Wall

I've been fairly outspoken against the use of Timber walls, especially when segmental walls are relatively inexpensive. However, I'm curious to know if there is an expected design life of a timber wall. Or something I can reference to client or in a proposal that would comment on the design life compared to a concrete wall or other type of earth retention system.
