Dear all,
i would like to know the live load multiplier as per ASCE-7 when we use mass source from loads in etabs
thanks.

Dear johnbridge231,

thanks for your support , but to make my question more specific

i have a building with live load less than 100psf (Reduction is not allowed)
when i need to define mass sourse in etabs
i use the following menu:
define > mass sourse > mass definition > from loads
all dead loads inclouding own weight , partitions, floor cover atc... , Multiplier = 1.0
for mechanical loads , Multiplier = 1.0
For live load , Multiplier =??????
i need to now how much is this multiplier becouse some engineers said it should be = 0.25 for live load > 100 psf , others said it should be = 0.5 for live load > 100 psf and 0.25 for live loads < 100 psf.
so i am confused ????

See ASCE 7 section 12.7.2. If there are no significant storage live loads the multiplier may be 0. But, some engineering judgment is required.
