I'm in need of some advice/assisstance with a DC motor.
In particular is the Heater Fan/blower Motor from a D22 Nissan Navara (australian)
One day the motor stopped spinning, so I got to exploring and pull it apart. It seems not many forums and internet users have pulled one appart, so I knew I was heading into a sort of unknown territory. When I finally got to the carbon brushes i notice they were worn, so I got to changing them which was a hassel. The ones I recieved were wrong sizes so i simple "filed" them down to the correct width and height, however I am still unsure of length.
When i reassembled the motor, it would not turn still. I am getting 12v power through the brushed and onto the communicator (test volts with a multimeter). I can spin it easily by hand. But when I spin it with power on, once every full rotation I get a spark around the bush below the commmunicator.
Would the length of the brushes effect the motor to turn (as i think they maybe too long causing excessive pressure on the communicator)?
