We are writing a specification to have a fabricator manufacture a 14 gauge stainless steel (type 316) bracket to support our secondary vault lids. This bracket will require one 3/8” stainless steel hex nut (type 316) welded to the bracket to support damaged URD boxes.
Is there a CSA standard applicable to the above welding? Some articles reference the AWS/AMSE for the welding of the two metals, however I question the referencing since I’m unable to view the documentation.
Should there be precautions adhered to prevent corrosion or fatigue of the metal when welding?
Would be grateful for any specific guidance you may offer.
