Moved COSMOS DESIGN STAR 4.0 to a new computer and the license administrator will not see the Sentinel Dongle. The dongle drivers are loaded and detected.

I tried, they would not answer my email. The SW is 2004, Structural Research was acquired by Solid Works YADA YADA YADA and no longer supports it. They did offer to sell me Solid Works with Simulation for $10K. Had the SW running just fine on a machine since 2004. The machine got old a went to where all old machines go. I really could use some help on this.

2004 ==> WinXP? Are you installing it on an XP machine? Are you running the software in XP-compatibility mode?

IRstuff, You may be on to something. First tried the SW on Windows7 and the dongle was note seen. Installed another drive and installed Windows XP on it giving me the capability of booting in either operating system. Installed COMOS on the XP side of the system and got the same...no recognition of the dongle. Checked the parallel port in the XP system and it is functioning properly.

crisb, Yes I do put the license.dat file in a folder and refer to its location during the SW installation. The error message that comes up when I try to open COMOS is that "authorization failed please get a new license" this is the error message that will come up when the dongle is not plugged into the parallel port.
