When a contact is defined by using nodes on the faces of solids elements, the defaults contact elements are Conta174 in APDL. Conta174 are 3-d, 8-nodes higher order elements, creation of these elements over the parabolic solid elements make sense. Conta173 are 3-d, 4-node lower order elements, in the case of contact created between linear solid elements, what elements should be used.
What is the best way to change the Conta174 elements created by default to Conta173 elements, by modifying the attribute of the elements (change type) or there is another way.
