Please see the attached pic. This is the truck dock side of a building where we are doing other repairs. We are going to install an edge angle after the patching, cathodic galv etc. My question is about the vertical portion of this patch. The patch is only ¾” deep and has no rebar. The contractor is wondering if he can simply hand patch it without an reinforcement. I am thinking of having them remove an 1” more of concrete, install a couple of horizontal rebars and hold them in place with stainless steel rods we already have on site (they are 1/8” diameter).
So the questions is, will a simple hand patch be enough for a ¾” deep repair. Thanks,
