Hello,

I am currently using COMSOL for electrical simulations. I have read about the different finite methods; the finite element method, the finite difference method, and the finite volume method. COMSOL describes their use of FEM in the following link; My question is; Does COMSOL it self differentiate between the different finite methods when performing a simulation, or does it purely use FEM?

Thanks in advance

Best regards
Gustav

Comsol uses FEM even for CFD. There are just some small exceptions where a different approach is used. For example, the Semiconductor Module offers FVM to be used instead of FEM if the users wants to do so.
