Now that is quite a long time I'm using FEM code, but there is still an opened question.
In a fem job the a big amount of time seems to be used for linear system solution (from 70% to 90% in bigger problems).
Now I know that MSC Nastran can solve both directly and iteratevly those linear system. The linear system can be in output and reused.
Is there someone using a Multigrid Solver (or similar domain decomposition) or an AMG (Algebraic Multigrid Solver)?
If this time could be reduced to a tenth which will be cost effectiveness of this improvement of the solver?
Will this be useful in your evereday application of FEM methods and program?
Thank you all in advance!
