Good afternoon all, got a question regarding supply valves for heating/cooling coils (hope this is the right forum; if not, please redirect me)

What difference, if any, is there between the 3-way valve system used in commercial/industrial settings, and the 4-way valve used in agricultural settings? Other than the addition of a tee in the 3-way system piping, is there any difference in function?

We are an industrial/agricultural installation and find the 3-way valves easier and cheaper to acquire, though they would require installing the afore-mentioned tee. Is this a way to go?

Many thanks for any answers
