I'm looking in to a coating system for Sludge Tanks for a hatchery.
The information I have is as follows:
pH is between 6 and 8
Very limited H2S and methane due to toxicity
Contents approximately:
3% nitrogen (N)
3% phosphorus (P)
0.10% potassium (K)
7% calcium (Ca), and
.6% magnesium (Mg)
Trace metals of arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), cobalt (Co), chromium (Cr), iron (Fe), mercury (Hg), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), selenium (Se), and zinc (Zn) and 2 g/Kg Iron (Fe)
The contents are continuously replaced as follows:
Total Suspended Solids: 4500 Kg/year
BOD Load: 16,000 Kg/year
TOC Load: 4,000 Kg/year
New construction, the concrete tanks are 30 MPa, with 25% flyash, w:c 0.4 max, and a 4" max slump.
The current coating systems I'm looking at are a high build, 2 part, 3M Scotchcoat or a similar polyurethane coating system.
Does anyone know of any problems with the proposed coating, or have a better one?
