Dear All,
I am on a scope of designing a mono slope shade to support solar panels, I was checking wind loads acting on this shades and I found that there is a big difference in pressure coefficients from ASCE 7-10 and BS 6399, For example for 15 deg Slope the BS is giving The CP as +0.7 and -1.1 (for solidity ratio = 0) while the ASCE is providing -0.9 and -1.3 each acting as suction on half of the pitch as attached in figure 27.4-4. the suction Cp is almost the same in 2 standards but it is different for windward, the values given by ASCE are 1.3 and 1.6 each acting on half of pitch. the difference is huge between = 0.7 and 1.3 or 1.6.
Am i missing any information, please help.
