We are looking to overlay the existing furnace walls ( 213T11 & T2 ) with GMAW-Pulsed 309 LSI welding wire. We have to prepare the surface for overlay by sandblasting and then using grinders to get to good metal.
My question is, Aside from a handheld P.M.I device, is relying on spraying Copper Sulfate onto the prepped surface, to make sure we got the original cladding and or thermal spray off - reliable ?
