Good morning,
My company is currently building a heavy duty oil field type skid mounted pressure vessel going to California. My code calcs program takes into account CBC 2013 for wind and seismic. It however only does the calcs for the saddle support not the whole skid itself.

My question is, if the vessel and saddle support are up to code, what additional calculations do I have to do for the skid itself? One would think that the if the saddle support is up to code, the skid would be too.

Any help is much appreciated.

Yes but its not ASME but structural mechanics.

I apologize was that yes as in if the saddle support is up to code the skid is up to code as well? or yes i will have to do additional calcs on the skid?

It is my believe that the Pressure Vessel Code construction(Sect VII-1) ends at the saddles. The Skid shall be to the Structural, Seismic and Jurisdictional Codes as Installation/Building Codes. Not Pressure Vessels Code
