Hi, colleagues,
May I qualify a WPS according to AWS D1.1 for the following joint: [butt joint 1/2V bevel, T1=10mm, T2=30mm CVN required] through a test piece composed of plates of dissimilar thicknesses (the same thicknesses as the production joint above)?
or should I conduct the elaboration of 2 PQR, each one with equal thickness plates, one with T=10mm and the other with T=30mm thick plate, and at the end issue WPS based on the two PQR mentioned above?
despite my best efforts, I didn't find any reference to this situation in AWS D1.1.
Any help will be very useful.
