Referring to the closed thread I tried to search the source of calculating the bolt size, number and torque requirements on clamp type shoes on cold insulated lines. But could not!
The variables can be as below:
1) Compressive strength of the cladding,
2) Compressive strength of the PUF insulation.
3) Coefficient of friction between clamp and cladding,
4) Axial force on the pipe
5) Diameter of pipe.
6) ...
How to calculate the bolt size, clamp size, the bolts numbers, and required torque is the question that haunts me.
Actually our sites face many problems of the slippage of the clamped shoes on such cold insulated lines.
If anyone can guide me to any book, paper or other source, it would be great help.
So kindly HELP!

Dear Europipe,
I have to solve the problem of already existing supports on PUF insulated lines on many big plants.
So cant propose new type at the moment, may be for new plant or big extension!!!!

Succes, I don't think PU will hold a lot.

Greetings
