Hi,
We do many welding parts. What is the best way to add machining features on a welded assembly model? We use NX8.5.

Thanks.

There are a couple ways, utilizing WAVE, and promoting the bodies.
I typically use promoted bodies because I find it easier to use.
Inset (pull-down) -> Associative Copy -> Promote Body
After the body is promoted in the assembly you can do whatever you need to change the body.
You may want to do a search in this forum for promoted bodies vs utilizing WAVE

We generally use "promote body" as Jerry said.

Using wave only adds another level of complexity that doesn't really contribute anything.
