bending and deep scouring on bucket hydraulic cylinder of an excavator- pl share your experience

It obviously hit something. Hydraulic cylinders are not meant to carry any side loading, only load from the ends. This is likely operator error.

Dear sir,
The impact marks are in front side, which can happen when bucket is being raised , not on side . How do we explain it?

Rocks dumping over the side of the bucket. Anyway, it's broken so replace it and then go to the job site and watch what they do to it.
