I design medium pressure (5-85 psi) distribution gas lines at industrial facilities, following CSA Z662 and B149.1. The scope is usually from pressure reducing station to 10-15 feet from the buidling of the end user (upstream of PRV).
Typically the sizing is below 10" and I used MDPE or HPDE pipe complete with warning tape and tracer wire.
For valves, to isolate the buried gas grid, I have used steel with local cathodic protection using a sacrificial anode. I'm curious if anyone has used plastic buried valves on a buried gas line and if so what manufacturer?
