Dear all,

I need to do transient simulations in SPS STONER, Im working with crude oil pipelines and with diesel pipelines, SPS STONER requires a great number the parameters in order to do a precise simulation like:

a.Valve curves(Cv vs stroke percent)of PSV(Pressure safety valves)
b.Open time of valves PSV.
c.Pump curves.
d.Polar moment of pump and its driver motor.
e.calibration set of PSV of stations discharge and reception.
f.destilation curve of the fluid.
g.Viscocity vs temperature chart of the fluid.
h.Closure time of check valve.

1.I would like to know in your experiences which of this factor are the most relevant in order to do a good simulation because I don’t have all this information, and I need to dig very hard to find it. ?

2.Which are the parameters I need to simulate a worst case scenario?

Thanks all.

First 4 are most important.
When transients are primarily caused by valve opening or closing
a.Valve curves(Cv vs stroke percent)of PSV(Pressure safety valves)

When you need to know how fast and well a pressure transient is handled
b.Open time of valves PSV.

If you are simulating any pumps
c.Pump curves.

If you are simulating transient pressures and flows during pump start up or a trip
d.Polar moment of pump and its driver motor.

If controlling a resulting surge becomes important,
e.calibration set of PSV of stations discharge and reception.

Not sure why this might be important. I haven't used this feature.
f.destilation curve of the fluid.

Important if you have wide temperature variations
g.Viscocity vs temperature chart of the fluid

I hate Windowz 8!!!!
