The base shear is value got from etabs is very much lesser than the manually calculate base shear. Etabs base shear is 80.57kN, whereas the manually calculated base shear is 325.44kN.manually calculated Sa/g is 1.203 and ETABS value is 0.289. I have attached the static analysis file and the etabs file. the structure is a sample G+9 building with 9 columns. the four corner columns are 12"x18" and the remaining columns are 12"x24". all loading and calculations and loadings were done based on Indian Standard codes. kindly help me understand why the difference between ETABS and manually calculated base shear is so high and on what basis does etabs calculates time period.
