B31.8 & ASME PV Code

I have a PID which shows Pig Launcher & Receiver shall be as per B31.8. So, when I write the spec for Launcher & Receiver to which code I shall refer to for fabrication details, 31.8 or ASME BPV, specially for (1) Welding Procedure & Welders Qualification [31.8 or BPV Sec IX ] (2) Heat Treatment [31.8 or ASME Sec VIII Div-1 ] (3) Radiography [31.8 or ASME Sec VIII Div-1] (4) Hydrotest [31.8 or Sec VIII Div-1]

Can anyone help, please.

I would recommend that you study Chapter III of B31.8 clause 831.3.5 item d. Watch out for pipeline Charpy test requirements as well, as they will apply to the pig traps. Pig traps are where pressure vessel engineers get into the realms of pipeline engineering and sometimes it goes awry. Good luck.
