We have duplex material installed at our oil and gas plant. some days ago when our PLATE TYPE HEAT EXCHANGER (exchanging heat between rich and lean amine) efficiency went down, we open it. deposition of carbon observed with some hard scales. Sample was analysed in lab and the result was high chromium contents. There was normal evidence of Fe and Ni.
Please help us in this regard.

1) is that problem due to amine solution?
2) corrosion in stripper/absorber trays?
3) or corrosion in duplex piping?

the thickness monitoring results piping/vessels shows no loss of thickness. any information/article regarding subject problem????
regards
