Auto populate the callout columb

Is there a way to auotomaticaly add or change item numbers to the bom in nx 7.5?
I have an assembly with over 100 PN's and I don't want to spend a lot of time changeing the item no. In Teamcenter it is Item. In NX I added a callout filed that populates the item number.
