I know this topic has been reviewed several times, but I can not seem to figure out why it is not working for me. I can't seem to get the exploded views to work with a Master Model. Originally I created the exploded view in the assembly file, but from what I have read they have to be created in the modeling side of the drawing file. However, when I add the base view to the drawing, I do not see an assembly to edit when I switch to modeling. In the assembly navigator I see the top level drawing filename and as a subcomponent I see the _asm file, but I can't see the assembly to explode it.

Below is my order of operations. Please let me know if there is something I am doing wrong.
(Native NX8.5.2.3)
1. Open drawing template (template_dwg.prt)
2. Save as (PartName_dwg.prt)
3. Insert Base View and navigate to my part_asm.prt file
4. Add view
5. Switch to Modeling (nothing there to explode)

(Unfortunately I can not upload an image due to our communist network admins.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been banging my head on this one for a while.

You will want to add your assembly as a component of the drawing; then - when you add the base view, choose the drawing file, not the assembly file.
