ASME B31.3 - Para. 320.2 - Sustained Loads 1

Hi all.

Does anyone have any 'worked examples' of the the sustained load calulations in para 320.2 that they might be able to share or 'signpost' me towards?

I'm not talking about a 'Ceasar' print out, rather a typical 'manual' example of how the calcs work?

Refer to B31.3 APPENDIX S (PIPING SYSTEM STRESS ANALYSIS EXAMPLES), which contains a typical 'manual' example of how a code calc works goes. Para S301.6 (example 1) specifically deals with the sustained load case and refers to para 320. There's also an example 2 in para. S302.
