In 7-16 a factor of 2.0 has been removed from the design ice thickness (10.4-5) that was there in 7-10 (10.4-5). Also, the importance factor was reduced from 1.25 to 1.15 for a RC III structure in 7-16. I know the maps have been updated for a 500 year recurrence interval rather than 50 .In some areas the mapped ice thickness has been doubled, but in some isolated areas the thickness is the same. I'm just surprised that in some areas the ice loads could be more than halved and this isn't even marked as a change in 7-16. Am I missing something here? What was that factor of 2 for?
