Any one know how to size a vacuum breaker

I have been appointed to size a vaccum breaker in slurry pipe line. Does any one have experience in doing this?

A vacuum breaker is a mechanical device and will not work well if you have a slurry with solids. Here is a reference.

We have atmospheric tanks that will be blanketed with nitrogen, only a few inches water column over pressure. The tanks will have PVRV safety in case the nitrogen generator fails while the tank is pumping out. We could then pull a vacuum, collapse a tank, ETC. The vac relief sizing is based on maximum flow rate out gpm from the pump curve converted to air flow SCFM for sizing the vac relief.

Slurry service may be impossible to get a vacuum breaker to work. You may have to consider some knid of bladder expansion tank to mitigate transients
