Hello,

I'm trying to find out if ANSI or IEEE have any standardisation about ratings and their abbreviations. Fro example, IEC defines the rated voltage to be Ur and the rated current Ir and the peak current Ip. Are there abbreviations in the ANSI standards ?

The IEC abbreviations comes form the IEC 62271-100 standard for disconnect swicthes at high voltage. I've looked at ANSI standards for disconnect swicthes and only found they use the Ir for some calculations.

Thank you for your help

There are a few standards as following[for instance]:
IEEE Std 260.1 IEEE Standard Letter Symbols for Units of Measurement
IEEE Std 280 IEEE Standard Letter Symbols for Quantities Used in Electrical Science and Electrical Engineering

C37.2 lists IEEE device numbering and abbreviations for control circuits. Not sure if any of C37.2 is helpful for your application.

Thank you for your help. I'll to get these standards.
