Allowable Error on a Residential Boundary

What would be a typical allowable error on a residential boundary? The NJ State Board says "this subject matter is not set forth in the Board’s regulations." But is there a typical number or method that is used to determine if there is an error? Do other states specify allowable error?

The state that i live in requires the following un adjusted errors for residential surveys. 1:25,000 for urban, 1:10,000 for suburban and 1:5000 for rural however with modern equipment you should easily exceed 1:25,000 if the survey crew does what they should.
